Doing it in Australia

Growing in Australia

Australia’s climate swings hard between seasons and years. These are the official and grower-owned places to plan with.

Chemicals: the label is the law

Only use farm chemicals registered by the APVMA and follow the label. Most states also require training or a licence for some chemicals and for spraying contractors.

General information only, not legal, tax or financial advice. Rules differ between states and change over time, so check the official site before you act. These organisations are independent and are not REALM partners. Links checked 07/10/2026.

All FAQs
Do your services support sustainable farming?

Yes. Sustainability is part of our core focus. On this site that means tools for stocking rates, grazing, water and fertiliser, and links to Landcare and your state’s farming organisation for local programs. Landcare and farming groups →

How do you help farmers build a greener future?

By making the everyday maths easier: stocking rates that match what the paddock can carry, grazing rotations that give pasture time to recover, fertiliser and spray rates worked out before you fill the tank, and a rainfall and water record. Getting those right is good for the land and for the bank balance. DSE and stocking rate calculator →

Who can benefit from your services?

Farmers and graziers, people buying or selling land, stock or gear, rural businesses and country communities. If you work the land or live off it, the free tools and guides on this site are for you, whether you run a few head on a lifestyle block or a big station. See the free tools →
